Prohibited Items

Due to safety, environmental, and landfill regulations in Utah, the following cannot be placed in any dumpster:

  • Hazardous materials (paints, chemicals, solvents)
  • Tires, batteries, and automotive fluids
  • Asbestos or medical waste
  • Appliances with refrigerant (unless properly evacuated)
  • Gasoline, propane tanks, or flammable liquids
  • Dirt, concrete, rock, or bricks (unless using a designated heavy-duty container)

Do you need to dispose of something questionable? Contact us before tossing it in; we’ll help guide you.

Weight Limits & Overages

Each dumpster has a set weight limit included in your rental rate:

  • 16-yard dumpster: Up to 1.5 tons

Overage is billed at $75 per additional ton. To avoid surprises, load mindfully and distribute weight evenly.

Placement & Access

  • Driveway Friendly: Our dumpsters are designed to minimize surface damage, but we recommend using plywood or boards underneath.
  • Clearance Required: Ensure 12+ feet of vertical clearance and 10 feet width for delivery.
  • Access: Keep the area free from obstructions during drop-off and pickup. If access is blocked, a return trip fee may apply.

Permit Requirements

If the dumpster is placed on a public street or sidewalk in Park City or Summit County, a temporary encroachment permit may be required. It’s the customer’s responsibility to obtain the necessary permits in advance. Contact your local city office for help, or ask us for guidance.

Responsible Loading

  • Level Loads Only – Do not overfill past the top edge.
  • No Spillage – Debris should be inside the container, not hanging or overflowing.
  • Secure the Load – If needed, use tarps or covers to prevent material from blowing out.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • Free Cancellation if made 24 hours before delivery
  • Same-day cancellation may result in a trip fee
  • Weather-related delays are handled with flexibility, Utah storms don’t scare us!

  • Damage Waiver & Liability

Park City Dumpster is not responsible for any damage to driveways, landscaping, or surfaces where the dumpster is placed. We take care to drop carefully, but heavy equipment can still leave marks. The customer is responsible for providing a safe, accessible area for drop-off and pickup.
